Saint Gertrude is a boutique design studio and letterpress workshop in Melbourne, Australia. Named after Gertrude Street Fitzroy, the traditional printers district of Melbourne, we are a dedicated letterpress studio, printing all of our creations in-house on a hand-fed, 100-year-old printing press.

If you have ever been on the receiving end of a letterpress card or invitation, chances are it was love at first sight. The oldest printing method on earth, outdated by today’s digital standards, letterpress is a luxury reserved for those with exceptional taste and impossible standards.
At Saint Gertrude, our aim is to create exquisitely unique letterpress work with designs that push the proverbial envelope. Our custom-designed stationery brings together a delectable mix of modern design and timeless letterpress; each printed piece is literally etched into thick, cotton paper resulting in an extraordinary fusion of old and new. Letterpress is a labour of love for Saint Gertrude – we design the plates, mix the inks, and hand-print each and every piece we make.
Perfect for weddings, events and personal stationery, letterpress is also a fabulous way for quirky and creative businesses to make their business cards stand out from the pack. In the (marginally quieter) wedding off-season, we also like to create tactile letterpress stationery and limited edition prints.
